The Zimbabwe group is committed to the fight for democracy in Zimbabwe. We contribute to the development of a free, fair and inclusive political arena that is respectful of human rights and allows for public participation in political and democratic processes. With our partners in Zimbabwe we work towards an opening of democratic space, which allows all Zimbabweans to participate actively in shaping their own future and the future of Zimbabwe. In Denmark and the EU, we seek to influence policy and decision-makers to increase the external pressure on the Zimbabwean government to implement democratic reforms.
We have longstanding relations with civic organisations in Zimbabwe. Our main partners are the National Constitutional Assembly and the Youth Forum. The campaign against political violence were developed in close collaboration with NCA and a wide range of women’s, youth and human rights organisations in the Southern Africa region.
